Approximate Autumn Haikus

[A] After putting away Their summer shirts of Green linen

Oak trees in the yard, tonight Wear long smoky cloaks Studded with bright stars!

[B] In the morning Someone sits at the window Knitting lace

Over the blue sky, With swift needles Of airplanes.

Delta Prelude

Brown river meanders To the blue sea. Tall reeds rustle with The sound of raw silk.

I am wandering here. You are here. I am with You. We are searching, Hand in hand,

The shell that holds the flower of life in It's heart, as our mouths

Seive the alluvial sands left
On each other's skin!

Autumn Moon Song

Autumn moon, Distant and lonely,

Shining over the hulk Of your city, crouched over, Wheezing, smoking Cheap cigarettes.

On the river your body floats, An empty barge in russet, The perpetual color of carnations, Hooting its foghorn.

Fall leaves, closed eyelids Of days past, crackle, catch fire Under my mouth, as it runs Down the narrow alley

Between your delicate breasts, Towards the river, now Colored with the aroma Of your invisible flower.

I leap off the hard bitten Shore. I fall over you. You envelope me. I will drift Forever in your embrace under

Distant and lonely Autumn moon.
