Another Music Note - John McLaughlin
John McLaughlin, to me, is one of those rare musicians who can seem to effortlessly span the world musically as he jams with jazz musicians, flamenco masters, philharmonic orchestras, and finally with that travelling cyclone of music masteros from the East appropriately titled "Shakti" (and in a later revival called "Remember Shakti").
However, the following is a video (yes, I know I am going crazy with YouTube) with an earlier group John headed up called "The Mahavishnu Orchestra". This track is also included in that must listen album with that beautiful title "Inner Mounting Flame".
Groove on baby!

Short Note - Simon & Garfunkel's America
Today afternoon as I was travelling back home in a train from a factory where I do some work, I was playing Simon & Garfunkel's "The Concert In Central Park", when apart from the gaggle of well known hits like "Sounds of Silence" and "Mrs. Robinson", this song "America" jumped out.
I must have listened to this song before but till date I suppose I had never heard it right; I suppose it was await the right circumstances to occur before it could yeild its load of meanings to my ear. So here is the video of Simon & Garfunkel singing this song in Central Park, New York City many many years ago:
This is just the sudio/ audio version of America. Also here are the videos of "Mrs. Robinson", "Sounds of Silence" and "Scarborough Fair" from this great folk rock concert.
Enjoy!
