Interrogations - 2

You fashion a sheath
            In black and white
I fashion a poem

--

Two lights burn into me
Until I sleep, after I sleep
Green eyes, snake eyes.

--

A city girdled with bridges and holding
Bejeweled skyscrapers in its palms waits.
There will we drop these sheaths, these words?
There will we become a great silence?
