R.I.P Bergman

Hitting the news tab by accident made me realize that Ingmar Bergman passed away today. How many unforgettable moments have his movies infused into the world of cinema. While I haven't watched all of movies in the Bergman oeuvre, the arc of memories associated with movies I did see, ranging from "The Seventh Seal" in black and white to his last but as brilliant "Saraband" (how he deploys Bach to kill you!), will always remain vivid in my head.

R.I.P Mr. Bergman

Sven Nykvist also passed away, in Dec 2006 I think. Time to remember their wonderful works again.

We also lost...

We also lost Michaelangelo Antonioni today. A sad day for filmmakers.

I didn't see

Fanny & Alexander, Blue, but I think I will one of these days.

Steffster, I didn't know that - I happened to be thinking of Sven a few months ago when I saw the movie version of Hesse's "Siddartha" in a dingy "theater" in stone-cold Toronto.
