[A] Pulling each other’s bodies closer, lovers show how dis- tant is the city of communion from all of our desiring bodies.

[B] You seek comforting. My shop Is full of words, and only words. You know this. You seek solace. My arms can’t reach across all These chasms. You know this. You begin to weep. Tears fall And fill the distance. They are Not enough for this task. You Know this. You ask me to stay. What’s the use I say? We will, Even momentarily, never become One. You know this. I too know This.
