Another Music Note - John McLaughlin
John McLaughlin, to me, is one of those rare musicians who can seem to effortlessly span the world musically as he jams with jazz musicians, flamenco masters, philharmonic orchestras, and finally with that travelling cyclone of music masteros from the East appropriately titled "Shakti" (and in a later revival called "Remember Shakti").
However, the following is a video (yes, I know I am going crazy with YouTube) with an earlier group John headed up called "The Mahavishnu Orchestra". This track is also included in that must listen album with that beautiful title "Inner Mounting Flame".
Groove on baby!

Short Note - A Novel From Iran
As I was taking a break in cyberia from preparing for a talk tomorrow, I chanced upon this review for apparently a best selling satirical novel (and thus banned by the mullahs) titled "My Uncle Napoleon". Here is a section of a chapter that involves amputation of certain body parts.
I belive I am going to read it somewhere soon, and thus indulge in my Persian fetish. I even like the book cover!

Cryptology & Few Perhaps-es
Someone called, perhaps, Z was born in 1982 to someone perhaps called Mr. A & Mrs. B. These A & B perhaps divorced in 1987 in a state that begin with the letter T. When B was still Mrs. B, perhaps she was criminally indicted, perhaps, in the year of 1986. Eleven years later, perhaps, Mr. A too was criminally indicted along with Ms. Mo, who perhaps is another daughter of his. For these alleged or real crimes let there be no 'perhaps-es'.
Nearly tweny years later, Z perhaps attempts to forget all this by making some additions, and attempts to become someone who is not Z. Is this Y?
