Autumn Moon Song
Autumn moon,
Distant and lonely,
Shining over the hulk Of your city, crouched over, Wheezing, smoking Cheap cigarettes.
On the river your body floats, An empty barge in russet, The perpetual color of carnations, Hooting its foghorn.
Fall leaves, closed eyelids Of days past, crackle, catch fire Under my mouth, as it runs Down the narrow alley
Between your delicate breasts, Towards the river, now Colored with the aroma Of your invisible flower.
I leap off the hard bitten Shore. I fall over you. You envelope me. I will drift Forever in your embrace under
Distant and lonely Autumn moon.
