Material for an immigrant novel
There is an interesting story to be told here of Punjabi men marrying Mexican women in California at the turn of the century, because of legal (read racist laws) issues etc. I have looked at this before, but not from the stand point of a novel. I should re read Stienbeck's 'East of Eden' as a begining.
